Usually the regions are divided according to their terroir specifics, which have naturally determined the grape varieties grown in them, and often also the style of wine production. Knowledge of the regions generally helps the wine connoisseur to navigate easily through the complicated wine world and to chose wine, especially from the countries of the Old World, where wine labels do not provide information about the grape variety of the wine.
