Le Tariquet has been an independent family estate since 1912, dating back to the time of Hélène and Pierre Grassa, who began the tradition with their love of fine Armagnac. The tradition is continued by their children Maite and Eve, both ardent winemakers, who were later joined by the sons of Eve, Armin and Remy, the third generation of vine growers in the family. Together, they run the Tarique mansion with a view to the future and a clear sense of business. With nearly 900 hectares of land, they produce white wines Tariquet and Bas-Armagnac, which have won international recognition. However, Tariquet's success is not just the result of hard work, dedication and respect for the vine and everything vineyard. Yves Grassa, now a world-renowned and revered oenologist from Gascony, started 25 years ago, breaking the rules of traditional winemaking by offering white wines with fresh finesse and fruity elegance. He was also the first in the region to dare to plant Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Chenin grapes, inventing blends such as Chardonnay with Sauvignon or Chenin with Chardonnay. Tariquet style is born of contemplation, rebellion and reason, followed by constant observation and improvement. Both in the vineyard and in the wine cellar, as Tariquet's leading belief is that for a true winemaker, winemaking begins in the vineyard.
