It all begins with Mario Fantinel – a man of extraordinary charisma, a passion for good food and a deep love for the land.
As a restaurateur, he knew that true wine is not just a drink – it is a memory, an emotion and an experience that stays in the heart. This philosophy led him in 1969 to purchase his first vineyards in Friuli and lay the foundations of Fantinel.

What starts as one man's dream gradually becomes the legacy of an entire family. His sons, and later his grandchildren, continue the journey with the same respect for nature, the same dedication to quality, and the same understanding that great wine is created with patience, character and soul.
Today, the name Fantinel is a symbol of Friulian elegance around the world — a story of tradition, family and passion passed down from generation to generation.

La Roncaia is the boutique jewel of the Fantinel family — a project born from the desire to create wines with even deeper character and individuality.
Located among the hills of Colli Orientali del Friuli, the winery works with limited yields, hand-selected grapes, and techniques such as late harvesting and natural drying of the fruit.
The result is wines of impressive concentration, velvety structure and remarkable complexity — powerful yet elegant, modern yet deeply connected to their land.
