YANUSH Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon Damyanov 2017
Bordeaux blend of Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. "Yanush" is dedicated to the grandfather of Yane Damyanov, who was named Yanush. A blend of Bulgarian and French oak, 15 months of aging and an array of southern exposure - a bottle that shows an extremely deep connection of these varieties to the region and what is possible to achieve with them. Typical aromas and flavours for a Bordeaux blend with bottle age such as plum, blackberry, tobacco, iodine, spice. Tight tannins, needed freshness to balance the warmth of the vintage.

Дамянов
Damyanov Family Cellar is located in the heart of the valley of the Struma River, in the village of Strumyani, 12 km. from the town of Sandanski, Southwestern Bulgaria. Wine and vineyards have always occupied a special place for the family, as the beginning was given by Prokop Spasov Marinkov (grandfather Kope), a participant in the Second World War. After the end of the war, he established a serious agricultural farm, including vineyards, and was a respected and recognizable farmer - until the nationalization of the land in socialist Bulgaria. After 1991 and the return of the land, Janusz Damianov, grandfather Kope's son-in-law, played a major role in the restoration of the farm. Yanush Damyanov is a long-term school principal and a prominent public figure in the region, posthumously declared an honorary citizen of Strumyani municipality. The whole family, headed by Vladimir Damyanov, son of Janusz, took part in the subsequent cultivation and development of the vineyard. As a natural continuation of this family love for the vineyards, the idea of family winemaking was born. And today, thanks to hard work and perseverance, the idea has been realized. This is a family cellar of boutique type, which produces handicraft wines with their own individuality and character in small, limited series.
