Cobblers Hill Red Blend Jordan 2021
Impressive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, planted on decomposed granite soils, typical for South Africa, which give the unique mineral and spicy character to the wines. The 18 months aging in French barriques adds viscosity and smoothness to the abundancy of tempting flavors: Sichuan pepper, cassis, cinnamon, clove, dark chocolate, leather, plump, dark cherry. A wine which creates emotion and engages the senses. The finish is long and the aging potential is at least 10 years. Rare beef steak with fresh truffles would be brilliant choice for this wine.

Jordan Stellenbosch
Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines since 1993 on a farm with a history going back over 300 years. Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the now 164-hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting programme, specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes. From the Jordan hillside vineyards, one has spectacular panoramic views of Table Mountain, False Bay and Stellenbosch. Gary and Kathy worked internationally for two years, refining their high-energy instincts with practical experience. They returned home to build a cellar in 1992. The following year, the vines were judged ready for making wines that would carry the Jordan name. From that first year, it was obvious that a new star had been added to the winemaking firmament. Continuing success has enlarged the team, with the focus on producing fiercely individual wines that combine the fruity accessibility of the New World with the classic elegance of the old.

Каберне Совиньон и Шенин Блан са най-добре изявяващите се сортове от района, като Каберне Совиньонът развива очарователно землисто ухание и минерално усещане на вкус, особено от лози засадени на гранитни почви, а Шенина се получава изключително свеж, изобилен, плодово ароматен и наситен, а и е добре адаптивен, тъй като толерира сушите и горещините, характерни за летата в Стеленбош. Сира, Пти Вердо, Мерло, Шардоне, Совиньон Блан и Ризлинг също даават страхотни вина от този тероар, като специален е Пинотажът, уникален, червен сорт кръстоска между Пино Ноар и Сензо създаден в Южна Африка през 1925 година. Стеленбош е родното място на този сорт и както почвите, така и климатичните и топографски особености са много подходящи за отглеждането му.
