With the name Concordia the Romans called the goddess of harmony in marriage. That is why it was chosen for this elegant blend of Fetească Neagră and Cabernet Sauvignon, symbolizing the years in which both varieties reach their maturity at the same time. This is a wine that impresses with firmness but also reserved fruitiness, structurally supported by silky tannins.
The grape harvest is done by hand in small 7kg crates, after which the grapes are carefully selected on vibrating tables. This is followed by cold maceration of the whole grapes at 12 °C for 5-8 days. The alcoholic fermentation is controlled at 25-28 °C, lasting 8-10 days, followed by post-fermentation. 50% of the wine is aged in new French oak barrels and the other half in second-fill barrels for 11 months.
It is suitable for many meat dishes with minced meat or cheeses with personality and strong flavour (such as gorgonzola). Concordia also goes perfectly with dishes served in wine sauce, such as filet mignon.
