Xisto Cru Tinto Luis Seabra 2021
A sophisticated red blend with fruits coming from two vineyards vinified separately, both with 100% whole cluster. Vinification was done with indigenous yeast and nothing was added to the wine but sulphur. After pressing, both wines aged in used 228l French oak barrels, the total ageing in barrel was 18 months.
With dark ruby color and complex nose with mineral driven aromas of red berries, forest floor, green herbs and smoke. On the palate, lively acidity cuts through a core of fraise de bois, ripe strawberry and sour cherry, with excellent cut and precision to the wet stone and dusty mineral on the finish.

More about this product

Luis Seabra
For nearly two decades, Luís Seabra has been at the center of a cultural shift in Portuguese winemaking, leading a movement of young, independent winemakers making history by reclaiming historical vineyards, grape varieties, and techniques. After a celebrated career as a soil researcher in Vinho Verde, enology instructor, and producer of world-famous still wines in Douro, Seabra finally launched his own small winery in 2013, Luís Seabra Vinhos. His work is dedicated to proving that fresh, elegant, terroir-driven still wines can be made in this region, despite centuries of traditions that favor overripe fruit, and massive internationally owned wineries.
