Bergamota Douro DOC Gota 2022
A powerful red blend, dominated by Touriga Nacional (80%) with the support of other local black varieties such as Tinta Roriz and Rufete. The grapes come from a single vineyard 100-120 years old, on schistous soil in the Douro Superior sub-region.
The grapes were foot-trodden, the fermentation was natural, and the ageing lasted 20 months in 2000l foudre.
Harmonious and balanced, vibrant and expressive wine with charming aromas of bergamot, cherries and eucalyptus supporting almond and cocoa bean flavors leading to elegant satin mocha tannins. This is all about finesse. Marries well with spicy lamb, goat and roast.

More about this product

Touriga
Touriga Nacional is perhaps the most appreciated and valued variety in Portugal, one of the base in the finest red wines from Dao and Douro wine regions, also a key ingredient in the fortified wines of Port together with Tempranillo. The variety displays bold dark-fruit flavours, often with hints of spice, leather and violet, has firm tannins and shows great ageing potential.
