Chocolaterie Mademoiselle de Margaux was founded in 1969 in the wine village of Margaux-Cantenac, located in the prestigious Médoc area near Bordeaux. The creation of the chocolate house is deeply rooted in the region’s winemaking heritage. The original idea was to develop a gourmet product that would complement and reflect the richness of local wines. From the very beginning, the brand aimed to unite two icons of French art de vivre – chocolate and wine. During the 1970s, the company quickly gained recognition for its innovative recipes and exceptional quality. Its signature product, Sarments du Médoc, inspired by vine shoots, became an iconic symbol of both the brand and the region. Over the years, the brand expanded its range while preserving its strong connection to local traditions. It incorporated dried fruits, fine spirits such as Armagnac and Kirsch, and artisanal techniques designed to enhance natural flavors. Throughout the decades, Chocolaterie Mademoiselle de Margaux has established itself as a benchmark of French artisanal excellence.
