Georgiev & Milkov

Petar Georgiev and Radostin Milkov are the people behind Georgiev / Milkov's guilt. The wine production started in the harvest of 2014. The two longtime friends are certified oenologists who have vinified in different parts of the world - Austria, Malta, USA, New Zealand, China, but their idea is to emphasize the Bulgarian, in - Western Thracian Plain , where are both their vineyards. They believe in the potential of the local Bulgarian varieties and that is why their joint project started with two of them - Mavrud and Rubin. The production of Georgiev / Milkov wines is growing rapidly, the two experienced oenologists rely on manual picking, sorting and pressing. The wine ferments in small containers with temperature control.

Thracian valley

Thracian valley

In this region, which includes Southern Bulgaria, the climate is temperate continental protected from northern winds thanks to Stara Planina, with good rain distribution. It includes the central parts of the Thracian lowland and parts of Sakar. Most of the red grape varieties are concentrated in this area. Mavrud, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Muscat, Pamid and others are grown. The climatic conditions of the region favour the production of rich, dense, memorable red wines, especially from the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Mavrud. Good wines from the local variety Mavrud are especially valued for their aroma and taste of small red fruits, spices and herbs.

Mavrud is a dark-skinned grape variety of Bulgarian origin, widely planted in the Thracian valley, more precisely in the region of Asenovgrad. The grape’s name is derived from the Greek mavro, meaning black, and the wines it produces usually are of an inky colour. They also have pronounced tannins and excellent acidity, with stewed-fruit flavours on the palate with some herbal characteristics. It is no easy task to produce wine from Mavrud alone, but whoever succeeds creates a wine that certainly does not lack character.

Уникално, неочаквано, изпълващо с радост
Аромат, който се разгръща постепенно и обещава едно уникално преживяване. То не закъснява с първата глътка. Правейки уговорка, че не съм сомелиер и специалист, а само любител, бих казала, че за мен виното има леко тръпчив и пикантен вкус. Редуват се различни нотки, които са радост за моите сетива. Усещат се нотките на горски плодове, които на мен лично много ми харесват. Според мен това е едно ВЕЛИКО българско вино. Поздравления за производителите!
