Founded in 1780 and produced by Midleton Distillery, Co Cork, by John Jameson and Son. Members of the family are still involved in the business, although in 1966 Jameson became part of the Irish Distillers Group, which also produces Bushmills. When John Jameson opened his distillery in Dublin in 1780, he continued a tradition of whiskey production that originated in Ireland over a thousand years ago. Today, Jameson Irish Whiskey is world-renowned for its distinctive taste and smooth character. It is triple distilled from the finest Irish barley and pure spring water and aged in oak casks. Jameson bears the seal of quality that makes it the best-selling whiskey in the world.
