Gin Mare

Produced in the small Spanish fishing town of Vilanova, right next to Barcelona, ​​Gin Mare embodies the Mediterranean spirit. The distillery, which is still used to create Gin Mare, is housed in a chapel on a property that was once a monk's retreat and was purchased in the 1950s by the Giro Ribot family. The family has been trading in wine and spirits since 1835, and their first attempts at gin production dates back to the 1940s, when Manuel Giro Sr launched GIN MG, one of the best-selling gins in Spain to this day. Gin Mare is a product of the heirs Mark and Manuel Jr., in their desire to defend their own ideas and create a new type of gin, inspired by the Mediterranean climate and using local plant products. They started working in 2007 in cooperation with Global Premium Brands, attracted as equal partners to provide their experience in marketing and distribution. It is characteristic of the recipe that the individual ingredients are infused separately for different period of time. After six separate distillations, they are than blended with more neutral alcohol and water to create Gin Mare. The whole process, including blending and bottling, takes place in the main distillery, next to the chapel.
