Edmeades

Edmeades Winery is in northern California in Mendocino County. Its history began in 1963, when Dr. Donald Edmeades, a cardiologist from Pasadena, planted 10 hectares of vineyards and became the first grape grower in the area. The winery and the Edmeades brand itself started in 1972. In 1988, Kendall-Jackson bought the winery with its vineyards. Thanks to the harsh climate of the coastal mountains of Mendocino County, Edmeades makes Zinfandel distinctive in character and individuality. The winery's approach is delicate, aiming at each vineyard to get full expression in the wines produced. Edmeades are known for their limited Zinfandel series from some of the oldest and highest places in Mendocino County, for which they won gold medals and high marks from critics. This is the winery thatactually creates the fame of the rich and bold mountain Zinfandel.
