Kweichow Moutai

Kweichow Moutai is a luxury alcohol preferred by Chinese politicians and businessmen who want to impress. Established in 1999, Kweichow Moutai has been producing and distributing a unique brand of baijiu, a clear and colorless alcohol with an alcohol content between 35% and 60%, which is considered the national drink of China since the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Mao Zedong, who served it at state dinners during US President Richard Nixon's 1972 visit to China. John Watkins, an alcohol industry expert who has worked extensively in China, says: "Mutai shots are part of the business culture and accelerate building trust and friendship." In 1974, US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger told Deng Xiaoping, China's future leader, "I think if we drink enough Mutai, we can solve everything." Thus, Moutai became the chosen brand for the elite, mandatory for business banquets and a demonstration of wealth and power.
