Château Cissac

Chateau Cissac has been owned by the Vialard family since 1895. It is located in the northernmost part of the Haut-Médoc appellation and enjoys the same maritime climate: the mouth of the Gironde River on one side and the Bay of Biscay on the other. and the pine forests that surround the vineyards protect them from the cold westerly and northwesterly winds. The soil is mostly sand and gravel. The vineyards are planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, and their average age is 30 years. Cabernet dominates and the style of this wine perfectly reflects this - a classic Médoc.
