Franciacorta is often described as a completely new region, making some of the best and most prestigious sparkling wines in Italy since the 1970s. Ambitious entrepreneurs such as Alessandro Bianchi realize that the region can produce high quality wines by the classic double fermentation method (Champagne method). He invests enthusiasm and capital to achieve it. Bought, in 1960, Villa Franciacorta, located in the municipality of Monticelli Brusati, a few kilometers from the town of Brescia, along with about a hundred hectares, picturesquely located around the villa. The winery, which dates back to the 16th century and is part of the property, has been completely renovated and equipped to accommodate 37 hectares of vines. Villa Franciacorta uses only its own grapes and makes only vintage wines. Harvest 2017 is the first for the company with biological certification.
