I have selected four wines with which I would like to invite you to discover the different facets of Bulgarian Muscat — from the natural and authentic expression of Vratsa Muscat to the fresh Varna Muscat and the distinctive interpretations of Kaylaka Muscat and Red Muscat. For me, this selection is an encounter with aromatic white wines that evoke a sense of sunshine, freshness and individuality.

Achinora Equinox Vratsa Muscat 2025
I chose this wine because of the natural approach to its production — hand-harvesting the grapes during the autumn equinox, spontaneous fermentation and bottling without filtration. The aroma interweaves floral nuances, rose-flavoured Turkish delight and tropical fruits, whilst the finish reveals delicate notes of apple, quince and indrishe.

Staro Oryahovo White Story Varna Muscat 2025
I’ve included this Varna Muscat because of its fresh and expressive character, which combines aromas of white peach, pear, citrus and delicate white flowers. I love the combination of juiciness, elegant freshness and a mineral finish, which makes it a wonderful choice for seafood, fish, light meals and shared lunches.

H'S Kaylashki Misket 2024 Haralambievi
I chose this wine to showcase one of the local grape varieties with which the Haralambievi Winery is seeking to offer a contemporary interpretation of Bulgaria’s wine heritage. For me, it is an invitation to discover Kaylashki Muscat and its varietal character, pairing it with light starters, fresh salads and delicate cheeses.

AXL Karlovo Muscat 2025 Château Kopsa
I’ve included this Red Muscat to give us the chance to experience this variety, characteristic of the Rose Valley, in a fresh and elegant style. The wine is fermented in stainless steel vats to preserve its freshness, whilst the floral and mineral nuances, combined with delicate apple notes, make it ideal for fish, white meats and vegetable dishes.

With this selection, I invite you to discover the richness of Bulgarian Muscat wines and to enjoy four different interpretations of this aromatic white wine — each with its own character, yet united by the freshness and sunny spirit found in every glass.
