Black Sea region

The Black Sea coast is an area where nearly 30% of Bulgarian vineyards are concentrated. The climate, with warm summers and mild winters, is suitable for growing white varieties. Autumn is warm and long, which favours the accumulation of enough sugars to produce fine white semi-dry wines. Over 50% of white grape varieties in Bulgaria are grown here, and the most common are Dimyat, Riesling, Uni Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Traminer, even Sauvignon Blanc. The wines have a pleasant fruity aroma, rich taste and elegant freshness. The old endemic variety Dimyat, in addition to being suitable for dry, is often used for the production of dessert wines, as well as for fine aromatic distillates.

Grenache Blanc

Сортът грозде Гренаш Блан (известен като Garnacha Blanca в Испания) е бяла мутация на Гренаш. Произходът му е от Северна Испания, но Grenache Blanc е най-известен с белите си вина, произвеждани в Южна Франция, и особено с включването му в купажа на червеното вино Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Той се среща и в купажите на много от вината doux naturels, като тези на Maury, Rivesaltes и Rasteau. Във Франция Grenache Blanc е деветият най-култивиран бял сорт грозде в страната. Вината от този сорт са плодови, с характерни нотки на зелена ябълка и бели плодове, и почти винаги са забележително структурирани, въпреки че сортът е много чувствителен към тероара, в зависимост от който може да прояви много различни характеристики.
