Mouth-blown white wine glass, designed by Kurt Josef Zalto*—ideal for delicate, finely fruity, and lighter white wines and rosés. The Josephine N° 1 enhances the intensity and freshness of delicate white wines. Fine Rieslings, Pinot Gris, or Grüner Veltliners present themselves with focus and expressiveness in this glass. Its slender shape with the distinctive kink supports lighter Chasselas, Chardonnays, Chenin Blancs, or Silvaners just as well as lightly chilled Trollinger, Gamay, and Pinot Noir. Even Port wines, Madeiras, and Sherries unfold beautifully. We recommend the Josephine N° 1 for: Light, crisp fruit driven wines in which one would like to boost exotic fruit aromas (such as New Zealand style Sauvignon Blancs or fruit driven Rieslings (preferably with a hint of residual sugar). Influence on wine styles: Unoaked (fruit driven) white wines: Shows freshness and density, especially with medium acidity. Cool climate white wines: Pronounces their edginess. Oaked white wines: Pronounces dense mouthfeel and wood influence. Sparkling wines: Enhances mouthfeel and freshness while softening the perlage for a more vinous experience.
