Vouvray Brut Extra Domaine de la Rouletiere

In stock
Art. # 9144

A sparkling wine made using the traditional method, featuring a beautiful pale yellow color with subtle silvery highlights and a long, persistent stream of (very fine) bubbles. The nose is mineral, with aromas of flint and citrus zest, complemented by hints of toasted almonds. With longer aeration, the aroma develops into buttery and lemony notes. The palate is delicate at first, with spicy notes of gray pepper. The finish is long, with a supple structure and distinct citrus notes.

Wonderful as an aperitif, where it will reveal all its freshness and finesse. For a sweet touch, pair it with caramelized pastries featuring exotic fruits, where the acidity and bubbles blend perfectly with the sweetness of the caramel.

Alc. 12.5 %

Domaine de la Rouletiere

Domaine de la Rouletiere

Situated in the Vouvray appellation, this domaine is run with passion and savoir faire by 5th generation vigneron Jean-Marc Gilet. He took over in 2003, but the domaine began in 1914 with just 2 hectares of Chenin Blanc. Passed down from parents to children ever since then, the domaine gradually expanded its holdings and cellars. Carrying on the traditions of several previous generations, Gilet farms the domaine’s 26 hectares and makes his wines in their impressive two-level, carved out underground cellars.

Loire Valley

Loire Valley

This is a long and diverse region in western France, adjacent to the Loire River, which produces interesting wines - from charming and fruity to rich and long-lasting. A representative of the red varieties here is Cabernet Franc and the wines from Bougainville and Chinon are excellent, but in fact the white varieties are the specifics of the Loire. The most common are Chenin Blanc (Vouvray), Melon de Bourgogne (Muscadet) and Sauvignon Blanc (Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé). Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé have come out of the shadows of their region and can be said to be well known around the world - the former with the typical mineral-herbal character of the wines, and the latter with the greater complexity of the body and aroma due to contact with oak, although the variety is the same - Sauvignon Blanc.
