William Kerr's Borders Gin

The Borders Distillery
The Borders Distillery, opened in Hawick in 2018, is the first Scotch whiskey distillery in the Borders region since 1837, when the last legal distillery operating within the Scottish borders closed, leaving the region "dry" for 180 years. The distillery is located on the banks of the River Teviot, in the converted former electric plant of the town of Hawick and is owned by The Three Stills Company. Led by four veterans of the Scottish industry, the company was founded in 2013 and at the end of 2015 received permission to convert the building into a malt whiskey distillery worth 10 million pounds. The capacity is up to 1.8 million liters of alcohol per year. On March 6, 2018, the start of work with the first distillation process in the newly built distillery was given. Along with the single malt Scotch whiskey, Borders gin is also produced here, the formula of which includes local plant products.
