Fabre en Provence was founded in 1920 by Henri Fabre Sr. in the village of Besse sur Issole and quickly became the largest producer in southern France. After the acquisition of the Château de la Clapière in 1928 and the Château de L’Aumérade in 1932, Henri Fabry the Elder devoted himself exclusively to his wineries. He was one of the first to own a bottling line and work for the recognition of Côte de Provence. His son Luis Fabre joined him in the 1950s and helped develop the business in France and abroad. A native of Var for more than 17 generations, the family is well acquainted with terroir and the wine market, as before actively engaging in production, engaged in trade. They own about 550 hectares of vineyards in Côte de Provence, of which 112 hectares are Cru. Fabre en Provence distributes two million bottles a year, often of its own production, and the rest a selection of wine-making friends who have a similar philosophy and values, all united by quality service and a Provencal way of life.
