Fattoria Sardi

The winery is in the northwestern part of Tuscany. The Sardi family has owned it for more than two hundred years. Since the thirties of the 20th century it has become very popular with its table wines. Today, Matteo Giustiniani and his wife Mina manage and make wine on the family estate. Not far from the sea, at the foot of the mountains, located between two rivers, this terroir is special and atypical of Tuscany. In August and September, the nights become cool and the days remain warm, which is important for the freshness and aroma of the wine. The different plots are exposed from southeast to southwest, on the hills the soil is clayey with good structure. The region was part of Napoleon's empire and has long grown the classic French varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon along with the local Sangiovese, Colorino, Trebbiano, Vermentino, Ciliegiolo. Fattoria Sardi wines are always fresh with a soft, unobtrusive texture. They have an excellent 100% Vermentino, and the rosette is a revelation.
