On the beautiful hills of Lamole in Chianti Classico, from the 17th century, the Grassi family developed viticulture on the same plot of land. Sisters Susanna and Maddalena took over the management of the property in 2000, creating Agricola i Fabbri (agriculture and a smithy, which the family also owned). They produce superior quality red wines from 9 hectares of vineyards classified by DOCG. They are located on a southern slope and start from an altitude of 450 meters and reach 680 meters. The oldest plot was planted in 1984. The soils are poor and sandy, the roots go deep in search of nutrients. During the day the temperatures are high, but the nights are cool. The area is typical and constant light wind. Terroir and traditional wine-making techniques are highly valued in the winery. These are elegant and delicate wines that have excellent freshness and present the unique characteristics of the Lamole region.
