La Crema

La Crema was founded in 1979, in the Russian River Valley area of ​​Sonoma County, long before it established itself as one of the most important in California for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties. In 1993, Jess Jackson bought the winery and began a process to improve the quality and reputation of its wines. La Crema is expanding its vineyards not only in the Russian River Valley, but also along the coast in Sonoma, Green Valley, Fort Ross-Seaview, Mendocino, Carneros and Monterey. With the 2012 harvest, the winery includes Pinot Noir from the famous Willamette area of ​​Oregon. A unifying factor for all La Crema vineyards is their cool and windy climate and sea soils. The winery is also known for producing one of the best Pinot Gris in the state. The grapes are picked by hand and the winemaking techniques are mostly traditional to ensure that the wines are a true reflection of the variety and the terroir. La Crema's Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are an expression of the variety and a reflection of their cool origins.
