Château Lassègue

Château Lassègue is located on the outskirts of Saint-Émilion, a picturesque 4th-century village famous for its churches, ancient ruins and steep narrow streets, as well as wine that is among the best in Bordeaux. The mansion was purchased in 2003 by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke, who together with winemaker Pierre Seillan set out to make it one of the largest producers in Saint-Émilion. A native of Gascony, Pierre applied his viticultural philosophy by dividing larger vineyards into smaller groups and individual plots - according to variations in soil and topography. The vineyards are planted with Merlot (60%), Cabernet Franc (35%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%), and are aged 40-55 years. Lassègue's first wine is sophisticated and elegant. It comes from vines planted in calcareous soils. Les Cadrans de Lassègue is the second wine and is named after the iconic sundials that adorn the castle.
