Château Monbousquet
Château Monbousquet is located at the southeast end of the St-Emilion appeal. For many years, harvest after harvest, wines are obtained weak and bland. The catalyst for change was Paris magnate Gérard Perse, who bought the estate in 1993. Gérard, currently the owner of both Château Pavie and Château Pavie-Decesse, drastically reduced yields and hired the famous Michel Rolland as a consultant. Monbousquet is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine matures for 18 months in 100% new oak. Bottled without filtration. Today, Monbousquet wines are among the best in St-Emilion.
