Chablis, Domaine Pommier
Introducing a special and limited edition Chablis. Isabelle and Denis Pommier are in love with their Chardonnay vineyards around the town of Chablis, from which they make these impressive wines. They are also fiercely persistent and even, in our opinion, have a specific French stubbornness that has enabled them to maintain their organic certification despite several very difficult vintages in a row from 2016 to 2019. They never cheat on growing their vineyards organically, as they believe this is the only way Chardonnay from Chablis can express its beauty and freshness. The ladybug, which is on their labels, is a symbol for organic growing. The vineyards for Chablis, as well as the two Premier Cru vineyards, are on the unique Kimmeridge soils. Clay and limestone that contains fossils of oysters, mussels and crabs from 17 million years ago when Chablis was an ocean floor. It is these strange soils that give the unique flinty or fudgy taste that attracts thousands of Chardonnay lovers from Chablis.
Franciacoria, Mirabella
The Mirabella winery is located in the heart of Franciacorta, in the Lombardy region of Italy. It is famous for its exceptional sparkling wines, produced using the so-called traditional method, which is used to make the most prestigious and complex sparkling wines, such as Champagne. Mirabella relies on high quality, combining innovation with a long (over 40 years) tradition, making it a leader in the Franciacorta region.
