Детайли

I have selected four wines with which I would like to take you on a journey through different wine styles — from full-bodied reds with character to fresh whites, aromatic wines aged in qvevri, and the delicate Pamid with its subtle oak notes. This is a selection for those curious about Bulgarian wine who love discovering new nuances and experiencing familiar varieties in a different way.

Bendida Rubin/Mavrud 2019, 12 months
I chose this wine for its full-bodied character and rich aromatic profile, in which ripe dark fruits, smoky notes, tobacco and spices intertwine. Its full body, ripe velvety tannins and lingering finish make it a wonderful choice for slow-cooked meat dishes, game and mature cheeses.

Bononia Gomotarci Dimyat and Vermentino 2024
I’ve included this blend for its freshness and mineral character, complemented by aromas of white fruits, flowers and fresh green grass. I like the balance between fruity juiciness and expressive acidity, which makes it a wonderful accompaniment to seafood, green salads and soft cheeses.

Dalakov Qvevri Tamyanka 2025, Better Half
I chose this wine because of its unconventional approach to the aromatic Tamyanka grape variety and the traditional method of fermentation and maceration in Georgian clay vessels — qvevri. This method gives the wine a more pronounced structure and texture, whilst the variety’s characteristic floral and musky nuances, complemented by dried herbs and spices, make it an interesting discovery for lovers of wines with character.

Pamid Barrique Villa Kutina 2025
I have included this Pamid to present a traditional Bulgarian variety in a different light — with delicate contact with Bulgarian oak and minimal intervention in the winemaking process. In the glass, subtle aromas of cherry and raspberry stand out, whilst the juicy flavour of cherries and red berries, combined with freshness and a lingering finish, makes it ideal for sausages, light meat dishes and unpretentious evenings with friends.

With this selection, I invite you to discover four distinct wine personalities, where tradition, curiosity and a contemporary perspective on Bulgarian winemaking come together — because every bottle has its own story, and the best part is sharing it.
